What to expect
Here's how a carpet cleaning visit works, from the day before to the day after.
Before we come
- We'll send a reminder before your appointment. Our arrival window is usually 2 hours or less.
- Pick up small things from the floors: toys, shoes, cords, and anything breakable on furniture we'll move.
- Put pets somewhere we aren't cleaning, or out in the yard.
- Leave a parking spot close to your door. Our cleaning equipment is mounted in the van, and the hoses reach 50 feet. If you're on an upper floor of an apartment building, let us know ahead of time.
- No need to vacuum. Commercial vacuuming is part of every carpet job. We bring our own water in a tank, so we won't need your spigot, but we'll plug the vacuum into an outlet.
While we're there
- We start with a walk-through. Show us the spots that bother you. We'll check your fiber and its condition, explain what we recommend, and you decide.
- We move furniture on request, though we generally don't recommend it. Light pieces like a coffee table make sense; beds and dressers are a special request. We don't move pool tables and pianos. Anything we move goes on blocks or tabs so nothing touches the wet carpet.
- We protect your home upon request, with corner guards on walls, door protectors, and shoe covers indoors.
- It's faster than people expect. A typical 3–4 room home takes about 1–2 hours.
After we leave
- Drying: carpets are usually dry in 4 to 8 hours. Running the AC or ceiling fans speeds it up. Ask about speed drying if you need the room back fast.
- Furniture: the blocks or tabs under the legs can come out after 24 to 48 hours. Until then, they keep wood stain or metal from marking the carpet.
- Kids and pets: our cleaning solutions are safe for people and pets as soon as we're done.
- If a spot comes back: some deep stains can wick back up as the carpet dries. We leave a free spot cleaner with every job. If that doesn't work, call us and we'll come back to clean it again.
- How often: carpet manufacturers recommend a professional cleaning every 9 to 12 months.
